Where Life Takes You

At 17 years old I thought I could conquer the world, nothing would get in my way.  For my senior trip in high school, I wanted to do something crazy (not the same crazy as my friends) and different from everyone else.  I had heard of a friend that took a trip to Costa Rica and it just seemed right for me.  So I planned a 3-week vacation to explore the country with none other than my mother.  She is such an incredible person who has always enjoyed life and I knew we would have some fun adventures together.  We wanted to book things that were not like the usual tourist.  I wanted to learn the land and how they lived.  I wanted to see all the places that made the country unique.  That was the exact approach we took,  making sure each stop was in small villages and hard to find places 

We had the most amazing time and that is a trip that I will never forget, I often relive those moments of perfectness.  I even kept a journal which my cute daughter loves to read and experience the country with me. 

During our stay, we went to a coffee plantation.  At 17, I didn't really drink coffee but had a fascination with the amazing coffee plantation. The process of growing  this unique little bean all the way to the roasting it to perfection. Many people are not aware of all the amazing things that take place for us to enjoy gourmet coffee. I had no intention of making coffee my life at that time.  It is so crazy how life goes and the way everything turns out.  15 years later my mom brought the idea to me of starting our own roasting company.  I instantly loved the idea.  Combining the important things in my life just seemed right.  Now if I could somehow add Wine it would be a complete circle:)

Starting your own business is not only scary but I am here to tell you it is one of the hardest things I have ever done.  I often compare it to being a mother, I don't really know what I am doing, but I work my ass off and pray that it all works out.  I can't even begin to go over all the things I have learned over the past year.  I had no idea that in 15 years from my trip I would be starting my own roasting company, roasting the very coffee I had fallen in love with years back.  I do believe that things happen to us for a reason, sometimes we don't understand the reason, but with time it always tells.  I am so excited for what our future holds and I really hope you will join our journey because all we want is friends, love, and a gourmet cup of coffee to start your day out right  EVERY SINGLE DAY!!
